We understand that some customers would like to alter their regular monthly billing/Direct Debit date. For instance, to align with their salary payment or other regular bills.
Giganet now allows customers with a working service to request a change to their regular monthly date that their monthly bills and payments are scheduled.
What's the default bill/payment date?
Customers' monthly bill date will either be:
- 1st of the month
- Date of their original installation
How will I know my bill date?
You will be able to find your bill date on your 2nd bill from us. The invoice date is the bill date. E.g. if you were billed on 12th July, then your bill date is the 12th of the month.
When do I have to pay my bill?
Customers paying by Direct Debit will have their payment collected on the bill date, or the next working day. Payments are due on the bill date.
When is my bill sent to me?
All bills are sent out 7 prior days to your bill date by E-mail to the E-mail address you provided at the time of order, or subsequently changed.
Bill date change process
- You will only be able to make one change to your billing date per month.
- Your account must be up to date and all payments due paid or under direct debit collection.
- When you make a change to your bill date, we shall generate a catch-up bill to part-bill from the end of the current billing period to your new requested bill date.
Examples
- Your current bill date is 1st of the month, and you'd like to switch it to the 16th of the month, and you make this request to change it on the 13th of September:
- Your current bill dated 1st September will be covering your period of service from 1st September to 30th September.
- We won't be able to change your bill date until 16th October, as the existing bill is covering up to 30th September.
- Therefore a catch-up bill is generated from 1st October to 15th October. This will be due for payment on 1st October.
- Your regular bills will be dated on the 16th of the month.
- Your current bill date is 1st of the month, and you'd like to switch it to the 16th of the month, and you make this request to change it on the 28th of September:
- Your current bill dated 1st September will be covering your period of service from 1st September to 30th September.
- This September bill will have been generated 7 days prior to the 1st of September, so even though the billing period hasn't commenced yet, we won't be able to make a change until the following month.
- Therefore a catch-up bill is generated from 1st October to 15th October. This will be due for payment on 1st October.
- Your regular bills will be dated on the 16th of the month.
