Giganet Local is the name of our branding for areas where we have installed our equipment into local (BT) Openreach exchanges to offer very competitive full-fibre services.
Currently this includes:
- Basingstoke
- Salisbury
- Winchester
Salisbury
In Salisbury, (BT) Openreach announced the first of it's kind roll-out of full-fibre FTTP broadband to the entire city (around 25,000 premises) back in March 2019. Most of the work to install the fibre infrastructure across the city is now complete, just the final few homes and business remain to be connected.
As Giganet were already in the Salisbury Openreach exchange, this was a fantastic opportunity for us to help local businesses and homes with the best broadband you can get - full-fibre FTTP broadband.
Special Salisbury FTTP full-fibre broadband pricing
As part of this rollout, Openreach announced some special pricing for Salisbury, and we've taken this and created some enhanced "Giganet Local" prices that we have called Salisbury UltraBEAM.
FAQs
I'm in Salisbury, but when I check your site, I see the higher "Local UltraBEAM" pricing not the Salisbury UltraBEAM pricing
Our enhanced Salisbury pricing is available only to the new FTTP full-fibre network that has been installed from March 2019.
Prior to March 2019, there were 1,818 premises already capable of receiving an Openreach full-fibre FTTP connection. This represents 6.5% of the total premises in Salisbury.
Therefore, sadly for the 6.5% of existing full-fibre premises, our slightly higher Local UltraBEAM pricing is shown. This represents the increased cost to us to deliver these connections compared to the new network.
We are charged more from Openreach, and we have absorbed as much of the price difference as we can, but sadly, we can't price match as otherwise we'd be losing too much money.
